Why did God place the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil?
New Update
“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, ‘From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you shall surely die.’” (Genesis 2:16-17) ...

God the Creator

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1).

Some people in this world deny the existence of any deity and others acknowledge many gods. However, the only true deity is God. Even if He cannot be seen to our naked eyes, God is certainly alive and even if people claim there are multitudes of gods, only God is worthy of man's service and worship. This is because only He is the governor and the judge of all things in the universe who has created the universe and everything within, including mankind.
When we accept Jesus as our Savior and receive the Holy Spirit as a gift, we can then refer to God as "Father." Once we come to understand the nature of God as His children, we can have fellowship with Him and, with the conviction of salvation, lead blissful lives in the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
What, then, is God like? As He is a deity who transcends man, it is no easy task for man to explain God. For God is an infinite being, even the most comprehensive study or research undertaken with man's limited knowledge on God will fail to provide proper understanding of Him. Yet, there are a number of fundamental aspects about God with which His children must be familiar.

1.God is the Creator of the whole universe and everything within.

Today, many people refuse to believe in God's creation but instead believe in the theory of evolution. However, the world abounds with evidence that attests to God's creation of the universe. As we read in Romans 1:20, "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse," good-hearted people will acknowledge God the sole Creator even by looking at the nature.
Consider the following example. The population of the world in which we live exceeds six and a half billion today. Now, how many eyes does each of the six and a half billion people have? Each person has two eyes. Each person has two ears. Each person has one nose, two nostrils, and one mouth. The positions of each person's eyes, nose, and mouth are identical. People may have different colors of skin, but facial features and their positions are the same from one person to the next.
This is also true of all animals, birds, and insects. There may be some particularities according to each kind, but most of them share the same features. The food-intake through the mouth and excretion through the bottom applies to all living things. What does this signify? This indicates that everything in the universe has been planned and created by the design of one being.
Genesis 1 documents the event of God's creation of the whole universe and everything within, and the works of creation are taking place even today. Many years ago, an elderly woman above the age of 60 suffered from a severe burn on almost her entire body except for her face and certain parts. As the skin, nerves, and veins were seriously burned, no medical treatment would have given her a hope of life. However, the moment I prayed for this woman, all the heat of fire and the accompanying pain disappeared. As cells that had been killed by the burn began to fall off, the new flesh like that of a newborn's began to develop while God also restored dead nerves and veins. The work of creation had taken place!
In most cases, people who suffer from severe burns and subsequently receive medical treatment are left with permanent scars. Even after suffering from such a severe burn, however, the skin of this woman was made anew without any scars. Without applying any ointment and without a visit to the hospital, this woman became whole only by the power of God.
Earlier this year, an eight-month-old baby tripped and fell headfirst into a frying pan filled with boiling oil. Even in such a dire situation, the baby's parents did not go to the hospital but instead came to me to receive my prayer. They traveled 400 kilometers (about 248.5 miles) with the baby. God saw their faith and immediately began His work.
As soon as the baby received the prayer, he no longer felt any pain in his face. Within a few days, scabs and new flesh developed and in less than three weeks, his face became clean and whole without any scars.
Besides these two, there are countless other testimonies of people who received healing of severe burns, and they only serve to testify to God's works of creation taking place even today.

2.God is almighty.

We find in Jeremiah 32:27, "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?" While so many things in this world are impossible for man to handle, nothing is impossible for God. This is also true, we find from the Bible, of Jesus the Son of God. He healed countless people of their diseases and revived the dead. Such works took place through people of God who completely trusted in Him and the same works are taking place even today.
In Mark 9:23, Jesus tells us, "All things are possible to him who believes," and "[H]e who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do" in John 14:12. For I have believed God's Word as it is, according to my faith, I have had an immeasurable number of experiences.
There was a man who had fallen from the fifth floor of a building and injured his spine and this injury left the lower parts of his body paralyzed. For 9 years, the man was not able to walk, sit up, or lie down by himself; he could only rely on a supporting brace for any kind of mobility.
After receiving my prayer, he soon stood up from his wheelchair and threw away the brace. Shortly thereafter, he threw away his crutches as his body became whole. He could now run and even ride his bicycle. The works of countless people throwing away their wheelchairs and crutches are commonplace at overseas crusades I have conducted over the last few years.
Even when I pray only from the pulpit, countless people simultaneously throw away their wheelchairs and crutches as they begin walking and running. So many others have testified to their healing of a variety of incurable diseases including cancer, AIDS, leukemia, and the like. Keep in mind that anyone with faith can experience such wondrous works of God.

3.God is "I AM WHO I AM."

As God tells us in Exodus 3:14, "I AM WHO I AM," no one had conceived and birth given to God or formed Him; God is a perfect being who has been in existence on His own. He is different from an idol which man has formed with his hands and clothed in gold or silver. If an idol were a true god, it should have been able to display to people the kind of power only a god could manifest. No idols, however, could do that.
One of the most detestable sins in God's sight is for man to worship a false idol. The term "idol" refers not only to a certain manmade object but also to anything a person places and loves above God. From Matthew 22:37-38 we find, "And [Jesus] said to him, 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. This is the great and foremost commandment.'"
There are people today who profess their belief in God but love money, pleasures of this world, or any other worldly things, and end up leaving God's side. However, if you love God and serve Him well, He will keep you safe and bless you. Furthermore, as He promised to bless any nations and peoples who earnestly believe in Him, I urge each of you to lead a blessed life in Our Lord.

4.God is the author of the 66 books of the Bible.

The Bible, consisting of 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament, is a word-perfect document recorded according to the will of God by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. People who recorded the Bible are mere ghostwriters; every word in the Bible is the spoken Word, the will, and the heart of God.
Therefore, we must wholly believe in the Bible and obey it. Obeying only the parts of God's Word that are easy to obey and disobeying the parts of His Word we find difficult to obey do not attest to our "firm" faith in Him. When we wholly obey and believe in all of the 66 books of the Bible, God will give us the blessings He has promised.
In Proverbs 8:17, God tells us, "[T]hose who diligently seek me will find me."
Do you love God?
For Jesus tells us in John 14:15, "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments," and 1 John 5:3 reminds us, "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome," we must hear and keep "His commandments" – God's Word – and our doing so will testify to our love for God.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, may each of you come to believe in God the Creator in the heart through the messages you hear and read, come forth onto the path of salvation, and receive His overflowing blessings in both spirit and flesh by diligently seeking and loving God, in the name of Our Lord I bless!
