[I Am Joyful!] Blessings in Spirit and in Flesh in Offering Flowers to God

Manmin News   No. 99

Deacon Sung-joon Park (43), unlike many ordinary men of his age and time, particularly delights in flowers and is charging onward with an earnest hope for heaven.
After joining Manmin Joong-ang Church in 1989, Deacon Park used to think of the beauty of flower gardens in heaven whenever he saw floral decorations on the rostrum and could feel the depthless love of God.
He pondered, 'How can I express this love to God?' and first began giving God "Floral Offerings" in July 1990, a custom that continues to this day. This does not mean Deacon Park is financially well off. There had been times when he could not make his ends meet but Deacon Park always made sure to set apart "Floral Offerings" from the rest of his expenses.
After beginning to give God "Floral Offerings," Deacon Park says he is deeply touched in the heart each time he comes across a blossom of a flower as he is reminded of the heavenly flowers of exceeding beauty. He has since received the blessing of becoming a full-time church worker in January 1991, purchased a home of his own, done mission work, and is now financially stable enough to help others.
"Until the day of our Lord's return," Deacon Park says, "I intent on giving God 'Floral Offerings' and my love for Him, which I hope reflects the flowers emanating splendid and refreshing aroma." The reporter could feel the warmth of our Lord's love in Deacon Park's confession and yearned even more for our home in heaven.
