In the Bible, there were several records of wonders. When Samuel called to God, God sent thunder and rain that day (1 Samuel 12:18). When Isaiah cried to God, He brought the shadow on the stairway back ten steps (2 Kings 20:11). When Elijah prayed to God, it didn't rain for three and a half years, and when he prayed again, it rained (1 Kings 17-18; James 5:17-18). Today as well, God has manifested wonders through a pastor who received the power of the Holy Spirit. In celebration of the church's 35th anniversary, let's look back upon wonders manifested through Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee.
Typhoons and Hurricanes
The extremely powerful Hurricane Irma changed its course and dissipated.
At 7:45, on September 8, 2017, Dr. Lee prayed to the living God to prevent damage caused by the strongest hurricane Irma observed in the Atlantic.
"Almighty Father God, a great disaster is coming to the US now. Father, let the Category 5 hurricane run down to Category 4,3,2,1, and at last, let it dissipate. Please let America avoid this disaster. Please let the power only God can do be revealed this time too. Through this, help many people have faith and let them realize everything is in the providence of God. LORD our God, be glorified."
Before the strongest Category 5 hurricane on record in the Atlantic, Irma, struck the U.S., it had devastated the Caribbean island chain. It was forecast to go up the east coast of Florida and move northward following the east coast of the US. The storm surges were also expected to cause great damage.
Because there are many major cities on the east of the US mainland, evacuations of 20 million residents in the state of Florida were ordered and there were mandatory evacuations for a third of them which accounts for more than 6.5 million people.
A week before, Hurricane Harvey smashed Texas and Louisiana. Although it belonged to a lower category than Irma, it claimed more than 650 lives and the economic loss was over 180 billion dollars. The previous devastation put the U.S. government and the people in greater fear. With the strongest Hurricane Irma ahead, prayer requests were sent to Dr. Jaerock Lee from Manmin's missionaries and believers, Dr. Mikhail Morgulis, Pastor Mark Bazalev, Pastor Vitaliy Fishberg, Pastor Gennadiy Zavaliy ministering to a major church for Russian-speaking people in New York, and many other Russian American pastors in the U.S.
After Dr. Lee's prayer, unlike the forecast saying that it would make landfall in Florida as a category 4 and move northward following the east coast of the US, Hurricane Irma continued westerly and then changed its course to move inland and parallel the west coast. It also weakened to category 3, 2, and 1, and at 9 P.M. on September 11, it dissipated to a tropical storm. Moreover, it changed its course to the western areas that have the national parks and wet lands with low populations, not the cities with high populations in the east. Thus, there was no great damage.

There are many other cases of typhoons and hurricanes changing the courses and disappearing by Dr. Lee's prayers. In August 2008, Hurricane Gustav was expected to cause great damage but after Dr. Lee's prayer it weakened, changed course and finally dissipated. Hurricane Joaquin in October 2015 and Hurricane Matthew in October of 2016 weakened and dissipated by Dr. Lee's prayer. In August 2017, right before the summer retreat, Typhoon Noru was approaching to South Korea and heavy rainfall was forecast. But after Dr. Lee prayed, its course was altered toward the east, and after he prayed one more time, it deviated by 100km, far from the projected path.

By Dr. Lee's prayer, typhoon Noru changed its course moving 100km eastward (The source: KBS 1TV).
Drought
Sweet rain fell on a land struck by severe drought.
In April, 2017, people in India were suffering from drought because it had not rained for more than five months. Due to the lack of water, farming areas were damaged, and farmers went bankrupt, and some of them even committed suicide. The members of Chennai Manmin Church also suffered from shortage of water and had to buy water to drink and for other uses.
Pastor Joseph J. Han, ministering to the church, sent a prayer request to the main church, and on April 16, Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee prayed earnestly for it to rain in India during Sunday Evening Service. Only one and a half hours later, good news was heard: it started raining in many areas of Tamil Nadu.

The then satellite imagery showed that rain clouds did not come from somewhere but they were formed in the sky over India (Right photos 1, 2, and 3). After the prayer, it rained in the worst drought affected areas in Tamil Nadu, and from April 16 to 23 it rained a lot for more than three days. It rained several times more in May.
In September 2009, when Dr. Lee conducted the Israel United Crusade, Israel had been suffering from severe drought. However, the day after he prayed for it during the crusade, it rained even in the dry season. Later, he prayed again and it rained in many areas in Israel.
In January 2017, another severe drought hit the northern area in Kenya, Africa. People were starving and animals were dying because there was no water and food. Bishop Dr. Myongho Cheong, Chairman of United Holiness Church of Jesus Christ, Africa asked for Dr. Lee's prayer on January 27 in Korea. After the prayer, on January 28, 29, and 31, it rained, which relieved the severe drought.
Kenya was also relieved from drought through Dr. Lee's prayer.
Flood
Heavy rainfall stopped.
In March, 2017, it was continually raining in Peru for three months. The death toll was more than 70, and tens of thousands of houses were damaged. The Peruvian Government made a declaration of a state of national emergency. The Peru Manmin Church was not supplied with water, and they had to receive the water from a park around the church. Pastor Peter H. Kim of the church sent a prayer request to the main church. On Sunday, March 19, Dr. Lee prayed for it. Next day on March 20, it stopped raining on the mountainous areas.
This kind of wonder that stopped rain happened in the early days of the church. In August 1983, some students and young people stayed at night in church and were about to depart for the summer retreat. But they could not start immediately because of heavy rainfall with thunders and lightning. Then, Pastor Jaerock Lee asked them to pray together. And they went down from the second floor to the lobby of the church building. When they set foot on the ground outside, it stopped raining and there was no thunder and lighting.
Wind
Sea waves calmed down and winds were controlled.
2On May 6, 2017, the weather was worsening around the Uleungdo, and the liner between Pohang and Uleungdo could not sail. According to the weather forecast, it seemed impossible for the liner to sail not only on May 6th but also on the 7th. It means one hundred thousand people who had already entered Uleungdo couldn't return to the Korean mainland and would be stranded. Deacon Seokyoung Park, Representative of Daezer Shipping Line sailing from Pohang to Uleungdo and Dokdo sent a prayer request to Dr. Jaerock Lee. Twenty minutes after the prayer the wave height of the East Sea decreased to safe heights and the liners were able to sail from Uleungdo to Pohang (photo, Sunflower Ship).
Another occasion occurred on the 15th day of May in 2017 during a church event. At that time, the air was severely polluted with fine dust. The previous day in the Sunday Morning Service, Dr. Lee told in advance that there would be good weather without fine dust. On May 15, it was a very clear and sunny day without fine dust all day long. It was because there had been a strong northwester of 5 m/s blowing and it had scattered away ultra-fine particles on the previous day. The visibility around Seoul was 20km on that day, which was 4 times that of the previous week.
In July 1998, the church's pastors had an Athletic Meet on the last day of Pastors' Seminar. It was scorching hot nationwide. But after Dr. Lee prayed for the event, winds blew and brought clouds in the sky over the event location from three directions to block the scorching sun.
During the Manmin Summer Retreat 2013, heat waves hit the country. But the thick clouds covered the sky and cool breezes blew in the retreat venue. It let the attendees enjoy the refreshing weather at the event.
Temperature
The temperature was controlled and set at the best condition.
Due to global warming, the frequency of natural disasters is increasingly on the rise. In the mid May of 2016, it was the hottest weather in 84 years in Korea. But on May 26, when there was a church event, temperature abruptly dropped to 24.4 degrees Celsius. It was the same in Manmin Summer Retreat that began on August 8. An extreme heat wave warning (temp>35degrees C) was issued all over the nation, but the temperature at Jumping Park of Muju Deokyusan Resort was 24 degrees Celsius at 7 P.M. on the first night during the seminar. Next day, on August 9, the Ministry of Public Safety and Security announced a heat wave warning over both South and North Jeolla Provinces including Summer Retreat Place, but it was 27 degrees Celsius in Jumping Park.
On October 9 2016, the 34th anniversary Sunday the weather forecast said the high would be 17 degrees Celsius, but temperature rose to 23.7 degrees to be proper for outdoor event. On December 16 was a Christmas lighting ceremony and the forecast said it would fall to 10 degrees below zero in severe cold, but it rose to 1 degree.
On the day before Manmin Summer Retreat 2017, Dr. Lee said the temperature would be set between 25 and 26 degrees Celsius, and it was as he said (left). Moreover, people participating in the retreat in other countries experienced the same work together. Over the time period, the temperature of India is 32 degrees Celsius but it dropped to 26, and although the usual temperature of DR Congo is between 30 and 33 but it also fell to 25. In Mongolia and Thailand, the members enjoyed the optimal weather between 25 and 26 degrees Celsius.
Excessive heat wave warnings were issued nationwide, but Muju in Jeonbuk Province that contains the retreat place was an exception.
