"I Am Living a New Life Since I Experienced Divine Healing of Anorexia"
Anorexia is otherwise known as anorexia nervosa. It is a disorder characterized by fear of becoming fat and refusal of food, leading to debility and even death. It has a high chance of recurrence.
Sister Hye Eun Kim (Age 28) was healed of anorexia by relying on the almighty God. We give all thanks and glory to God.
I was 11. After that incident my life was never the same. One day I looked at a photo I took with my friends. I knew my face was a bit chubby, but in that photo I thought I was so fat and I didn't look pretty at all. I made up my mind to go on a diet. It was fun to lose weight, but I got addicted to it.
Later, I began saying I became full just by the smell of the food. When my mother fixed me meals, I hid the food in my clothes and said I finished the meal. Also, I kept on standing all day long except when I sat at the meal table for a moment. My mother was concerned about my behaviors and took me to a clinic.
The doctor said it was anorexia, and I'd better to go a bigger hospital because I might need neuropsychiatric treatment.
My weight was down to 25kg (55lbs.), and I was literally skin and bones. I looked like a corpse. My legs always looked like they were bruised. I suffered hair-loss due to malnutrition. I'd scream at night because I couldn't get any sleep.
Finally, my mother took me to our Senior Pastor Rev. Jaerock Lee to receive his powerful prayer.
He prayed for me earnestly after he advised me saying, "Why would you lose weight to such an extreme just because somebody said you gained a little weight? You'd better cast away such a strong feeling." Something amazing happened after that. I could sleep well, and I got my appetite back. I began eating well and I recovered my health very soon. Hallelujah!
It was a miracle. I was healed of anorexia that couldn't be dealt with by any medicine. Since then, I experienced big changes both in my body and spirit. God's love and grace were etched deep in my heart, and I had the earnest desire to pay back His grace. The only thing I could do as a student was trying my best in my studies to give Him all the glory. I was the top 3rd of the class in the junior high and the top in the high school. I got the highest grade point average in college for many semesters.
Anorexia is very difficult to cure. Perfect cure and recovery is extremely hard, and for this reason there are quite a few fashion models who die of anorexia. I've always kept in mind that I could also be dead if not for God's power. In order to give glory to God and become a capable instrument of God in various ways, I entered many kinds of competitions for college students and won many times, too. I am a freelance announcer, and recently I also got a job in a commercial for a local TV channel.
My ultimate goal is to become an announcer for GCN TV that transmits the word of life and God's powerful works to more than 170 countries. It is such a wonderful and blessed thing to be able to spread the news about God the Creator and Jesus Christ.
The purpose of life on this earth is to know what our duty is, which is to fear God and keep His commandments, so that we can become true children who can share true love with Him eternally.
I give thanks to my Senior Pastor for teaching me how I am supposed to live my life. Even today I try to give out the fragrance of Christ by improving myself.
I give all thanks and glory to God the Trinity who healed me of my anorexia and guided me to live a valuable life pursuing the true goal of life.
