Under the Main Theme 'Trust', It Attracted About 7,000 Believers from 29 Nations

The 2011 Manmin Men's and Women's Mission Summer Retreat was held under the main theme 'Trust' from August 1st to 3rd. Believers and pastors from Korea and abroad attended and took part. It was like a festival, filled with spiritual love and grace.

Manmin Summer Retreat is a precious opportunity for the members to 'recharge' spiritual strength and meet the living God in the love of the Lord during summer vacation.

The 2011 Manmin Men's and Women's Mission Summer Retreat was held at the Muju Deogyusan Resort, Jeonbuk province with the main theme 'Trust' based on John 15:1-8. It was attended by pastors and members from Seoul, Daejeon, Busan, Gwangju, Cheongju, Gumi, Masan, Yeosu, Mokpo, Chuncheon, and Jeju of Korea. Additionally, 330 pastors and believers from 29 countries including the U.S., Canada, Belgium, Kazakhstan, Israel, Singapore, Japan, the Philippines, and China proved that Manmin Summer Retreat has become a global festival.

The first education session started with the pre-recorded prayer of Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee. Mrs. Boknim Lee, president of Manmin Prayer Center delivered the message under the title of 'Excellent Wife: Prayer to Enter into New Jerusalem' taken from Proverbs 31:10. She urged the listeners to cast away the untruth in their hearts with patience like that of a shellfish that in severe pain makes a pearl. She said, "Then, if you fill your heart with the heart of goodness, you will be able to become beautiful brides of the Lord."

During the morning of the second day, both Korean and foreign believers enjoyed an Athletic Meet. The teams named 'Team Faith', 'Team Hope', and the 'Love Team' competed in Fill-the-Tower Ball Toss, Group Jump Rope, Soccer, Volley Ball, Spot-Kick Shoot Out, Balloon-rolling, Tug-of-war, Obstacle Race, and a Relay Race. The games helped them solidify their unity and brotherhood. The cheering competition for each team's contestants enhanced their joy.

'Love Team' was the winner of the 2011 Athletic Meet, and MVP awards went to Deacon Woongkil Park from Daejeon Manmin Church and Sister Jennifer from Belgium.

In the evening, Pastor Heejin Lee, chairperson of Performing Arts Committee, preached the message under the title of 'Trust' from John 15:1-8. She said, "We have experienced spiritual space through the shepherd continuously. It has allowed for our faith to grow up. If we realize what spiritual space is like, we can understand the will of the shepherd. And, if we trust in the shepherd we will be able to enter into the most beautiful dwelling place in Heaven, New Jerusalem."

Then, Pastor Heesun Lee, Guidance Teacher of Men's and Women's Mission, was filled with the Holy Spirit as she led both the Prayer Meeting and the Campfire Praise and Worship. The members in attendance gave glory to God while singing praises that were full of hope for Heaven. They watched fireworks and refreshed resolutions of the heart and mind. Campfire Praise and Worship brought out the harmony and unity between Manmin members from all over the world. Also, they could feel the love of God, who comforts them and gives answers and blessings.

In particular, the forecast was for heavy rain and scorching heat to hit the whole nation during the first week of August. Contrary to such a weather forecast, through Dr. Lee's prayer they were able to see rainbows, moving stars, various shaped-aurora lights, and other images while enjoying sunny and cool weather. This year as in the past, dragonflies sat on believers' faces, hands, shoulders, and fingertips. Thanks to the dragonflies, they were able to have a pleasant time without harmful insects and bugs.
