'Close to the Bible, Close to God' All Manmin members in fervor for reading the Bible

The strong wind of the Holy Spirit hit Manmin Central Church. Its pastors and members couldn't be more fervent in praying and arming themselves with the Word of God. They pray and praise for 2 hours and 40 minutes a day in Daniel Prayer Meeting held at 9 P.M. every night. They also take notes listening to Dr. Lee's sermon again; they memorize Bible verses, and read the Bible regularly. Racing the clock, they pray and read the Bible after work, late at night, at dawn, and during breaks.

Today, many Christians don't read the Bible nor do they adhere to its teachings. Some of them consider it to be myths or just stories. But the Bible is the Word of the living God. Therefore, time given for people to read the Bible is time that is precious and blessed.

The members came to love the Bible because they put complete trust in the Bible as Dr. Lee's taught. They can realize the heart and will of God by reading it and they are assured that their spirits and souls do prosper and everything is going well with them. In the coming year of 2012, Manmin Bible Reading Contest will be held, which will add great expectation.

Manmin Central Church has published the 'Korean Revised Version Bible/ (KRV)'. This is because the Korean Revised Version Bible is rarely printed these days as the New Revised Korean Version (NKRV) is now being published. Manmin members are already accustomed to reading the KRV Bible, but they are now experiencing difficulties in acquiring the KRV version.

2012 Manmin Calendar was produced

2012 Manmin Calendar was produced celebrating the 30th anniversary of Manmin Central Church. On the cover are the pictures describing the history of Manmin. The monthly church activities appear on each page.

2012 New Year's Service

Manmin Central Church had the 2012 New Year's Service from 8 P.M. on December 31st, 2011 until 1 A.M. on January 1st, 2012. The previous New Year's Services were offered from 11 P.M. to 4 A.M, but 2012 New Year's Service started three hours earlier than before. This is because the first day of 2012 is the Lord's Day. The year of 2012 is also meaningful in that the church will celebrate its 30th church anniversary. The members enjoyed the first day of the meaningful year offering up New Year's Service and Sunday Services and gave thanks to God.

Members of approximately 10,000 branch and associative church and viewing audiences attended the service through GCN TV and Internet as the 2012 New Year's Service was live-broadcast. During the first half of the service, Pastor Soojin Lee delivered the message under the title 'Blessing' taken from 3 John 1:2. And the members gave the New Year's thanks offering to God and submitted their handwritten prayer titles to the church. Pastor Lee prayed for the titles during the second half of the service. After 30 minutes break, the Performing Arts Teams of the church gave praise, worship dance, and performance based on the four church prayer titles. All of the members gave glory to God and prayed to receive blessing God would give to them.

2011 Year-end General Assembly

On December 25th, 2011 Year-end General Assembly was held in the main sanctuary after Sunday Evening Service with Dr. Jaerock Lee, Senior Pastor of Manmin Central Church. In the assembly, they had time to make petition for pastor ordination and decision for elder candidates. The 2011 finance management and 2012 budget were reported and reviewed. Then, the Plaque of Appreciation and the Plaques of Recognition were awarded.

In 2011, the plaques of recognition were given to Pastor Dr. Soojin Lee, President of Pastors' Association and Pastor Dongcho Shin, Sermon Division of Secretary Office. The appreciation plagues went to Elder Joseph Roh, president of Seoul Joong-Ang Insurance Corp. who has enjoyed blessings through its honest management and who has supported the church and Pastor Taesik Gil ministering to Daejeon Manmin Church whose members actively participated in Bible Quiz Contest and spread the holiness gospel in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
