~ hosted by Evangelization Brigade, sharing the love of the Lord with elderly and youth in need
The Evangelization Brigade (Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee, Commander-in-Chief), which has been conducting the monthly "Sharing the Meals of Love" campaigns with which it spread the love of Jesus Christ to the neighbors in need and neglected, recently celebrated the campaign's 70th birthday. On Saturday, February 10, 2007, the 70th campaign took lace at "The Rainbow-Rising Village" (Elder Byung-yong Hang, President) in Ansung, Gyeonggi Province, and provided laughter to all in attendance. Previous campaigns had been held at Manmin Joong-ang Church with the elderly and youth with no family or relatives to rely on, and spread the love of our Lord by providing meals, haircuts and other beauty managements, and medical services. A typical campaign would also have pastors and ministers sharing God's Word and Manmin's Performing Arts teams glorifying God with praise and worship, and gifts presented to the guests. As the campaign matured, it has even expanded to Student Missions, Five United Missions (College, Canaan, Youth, Paul's, and Mary's Missions), the Salt and Light Mission (an interdenominational group consisted of believers who have to work during the day on Sundays). By holding the campaigns at such municipal and welfare locations as the Guro Ward Elderly Welfare Center, the Guro Ward Office, the Dongjak Ward Office, and Manmin Welfare Town, and in other parts of the metropolitan Seoul areas including cities of Incheon and Guri, the "Sharing the Meals of Love" has made major contributions to regional development as well.
