Starting with "The Summer Bible School" and "The Sunday School Retreat" in the fourth week of July and spanning over 5 weeks, "The 2007 Manmin Summer Retreat" took place amidst God's most delicate intervention. In the last week of July were retreats for "The Hearing Impaired Mission," "The Chinese Grand Parish," and "The Foreigners' Mission." They were followed in the first week of August by the retreat for all Manmin branch churches throughout Korea, and "The Six-Mission Retreat [College, Canaan, Youth, Paul's, Mary's, Salt & Light]," and "The Five Men's-Mission Retreat [1~5] Retreat." This year's series of summer retreats came to a close with "The Lord's Love Mission [for the North Korean escapees] Retreat" in the third week of August.
Despite the large number of people traveling from place to place, not a single accident or incident was reported, while the unusually cool and sunny weather during the five-week span added to the joy of participants. Frequent appearances of countless red dragonflies at each of the retreat sites and their extermination of harmful insects prevented participants from getting bitten by other insects and mosquitoes even in the forests. "The Japan Branch Churches' Summer Retreat," held at the Green House Morisawa, August 13-15, 2007, brought together Manmin's brothers and sisters in Japan. The Retreat served as a precious opportunity at which the participants vowed to rush the evangelization of Japan with the gospel of sanctification.
Prayer Meetings and Lectures that Transformed the Hearts and Filled Them with the Holy Spirit
At prayer meetings during the Retreats, participants repented and renewed their hearts for the Lord. During lecture sessions marked by messages of life, participants filled their hearts with the faith by which they believed they could achieve sanctification by God's love, and with fervent hopes for New Jerusalem.
Programs that Promoted Fellowship and Sharing of Joy in the Lord
In addition, a wide array of such events as "Praise Competition," "Performing Arts Competition," "The Pilgrim's Progress," campfire, "Washing of the Feet," recreation, athletic competitions, and "Drawing of the Lucky Tickets" united the participants in the Lord's love.
