There were 44 awardees who worked faithfully with joy and thanks in 2015 as members of the Lord's body: 4 district leaders, 3 sub-district leaders, 4 cell leaders in parishes; 1 group leader and 4 small group leaders in missions; 6 committee members; 4 volunteer group members; 13 full-time workers, and 5 volunteers.
On February 21, 2016, the Award of Merit Ceremony for 2015 was held for those who fulfilled their duties faithfully in their field. The awards were given to outstanding district, sub-district, cell leaders, small group leaders, group leaders, committee members, volunteer group members, and full-time workers. There were 44 awardees in total.
Deacon Euhwan Roh has been volunteering to serve noodles for the church members' lunch on Sundays for ten years. He said, "I collapsed due to stroke before coming to church. At that time one of my friends guided me to this church. As I started to attend church, I could stop smoking with one try, and my health quickly recovered. I was so thankful for the grace and started to volunteer. On Sundays, I get up at 4 A.M., come to church, and prepare noodles. Every time I feel so happy. God gave me good health and the opportunity to pile up heavenly rewards and make the members happy."
Senior Deaconess Junko Shijo stated, "I have received a lot of grace translating Senior Pastor's books and Manmin Praise, but now I have also received this great award. I feel very thankful. I will work more faithfully with spiritual faithfulness so that countless dying souls in Japan can reach salvation."
She used to work as a professor of English Literature Department in Shimane University, a national university in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture in Japan. While looking for the word of life that satisfies her spiritual thirst, she found out Dr. Lee's testimonial memoirs Tasting Eternal Life before Death and received a lot of grace reading it and listening to his sermon tapes. And she was healed of rhinitis that had troubled her for 20 years through Dr. Lee's prayer. Afterwards, she became a full-time worker for the church to devote herself to the church's book and publication ministry, and has been serving God's kingdom.
Elder Choon Cho, a movie actor and an honorary ambassador of the Korean Ministry of Justice Rehabilitation Protection Association has warmly welcomed the church members at the church's entrance every Sunday and delivered Manmin News to taxi drivers with snacks.
Elder Cho said, "Before registering in Manmin, I did not lead an appropriate Christian life. When I had a big accident, I had a surgery that took ten hours to fix neck bones with 12 screws. After that I could not turn my neck freely. But when I met Senior Pastor and received his prayer, the fire of the Holy Spirit came down upon me and all the after-effects were gone. Since then, I have been leading a real Christian life. Now I am filled with the joy of salvation and hope for Heaven, and I feel like I became young again."
In addition to our 44 awardees, many of our Manmin members have been renewed by the power of the Holy Spirit and are working faithfully for the kingdom of God with faith, hope, and gratefulness for the cross of our Lord and the love of God the Creator.
