From August 7 to 10, Manmin Summer Retreat 2017 was conducted at Deogyusan Resort in Muju, Jeonbuk Province with Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee as the speaker. It was broadcast live via GCN and attended by approximately 1,100 bishops, pastors, and believers from 37 countries.
The main theme was "Power" taken from John 14:12, and it was simultaneously interpreted in 13 languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, French, Thai, Hindi, Tamil, Tagalog, Indonesian, Mongolian, and Vietnamese.
The sign language interpretation service was provided in nine sign languages for deaf members from both in and outside of Korea. They are Korean, Malaysian, Thai, Latvian, Danish, Faroes, German, Austrian, and Chinese.
Wonders: A Typhoon Changed Its Course and the Temperature Was Controlled
Before the retreat, Typhoon Noru, the season's fifth typhoon, was heading for South Korea. The forecast said, on August 7, it would influence the country in some areas directly and in other areas indirectly, bringing heavy rains throughout Korea. On August 3, Dr. Lee prayed for the typhoon to die out or change its course. Afterwards, it began to move eastward more than expected, which resulted in no effect on Korea. On August 4, he prayed again and the course became distanced 100km farther from the peninsula and it had also weakened.
As Dr. Lee said during the worship service on August 6, the temperature stayed around at 25 to 26 degrees Celsius in the retreat venue through the works bringing about cool breezes and clouds. Moreover, though excessive heat warnings had been issued nationwide, Muju was the only exception. After all events were over, on August 10, the temperature climbed to over 30 degrees Celsius, and again the members had experienced the love of God who protected Manmin as He protected the Israelites in Goshen.
Explosive Power: Diseases Were Healed and the Spiritual World Was Revealed
During the seminar on the first day, Dr. Lee preached about God under the title of "God Is Spirit" (John 4:24). He said that God has nothing impossible, knows the heart of mankind, and wants them to achieve whole spirit and thereby dwell in the greatest glory.
In the Divine Healing Meeting, they offered up praise and prayer of repentance. Then, Dr. Lee prayed for all participants and viewers of GCN and the Internet so that negative thoughts and forces of darkness would be driven out from them, their original hearts could be renewed, and they could have spiritual faith to bring down answers. He also prayed for the Holy Spirit's fire to burn all kinds of diseases and infirmities, for all kinds of cancers and mental illness to be healed even transcending space and time.
In this retreat, particularly, Dr. Lee's powerful prayer worked with original light and sound, and those suffering from demon-possession were set free. While seeing how they were set free, the members could see and realize how the enemy devil and Satan entice people to commit sins at the end time, cause them to commit suicide and lead them to Hell. God showed this to lead the members to live by the Word and live a godly life.
Additionally, many people were healed of their diseases including comminuted fraction, facial paralysis, lower edema, hypothyroidism, and sudden deafness. There were also many deaf members who came to hear.
Manmin Athletic Meet! Cool Winds Refreshed Our Heart and Body!
On the second day of Manmin Summer Retreat 2017, the Manmin Athletic Competition was held. The First Great Grand Parish including Chinese and Overseas Parishes, the Second Great Grand Parish, the Third Great Grand Parish, and Branch Churches' Team competed.
They contended for 24 gold medals in the ten games: tug-of-war, balloon rolling, badminton, 100m sprint, volleyball, mini soccer, long-distance races, wrestling, arm wrestling, and relay races.
This year the Branch Churches' Team was the final winner of the competition, having won twelve gold medals. The Cheerleading Performance Award went to the Third Great Grand Parish. The MVP, male and female, was awarded respectively to Ketupei Jacob and Mwendwa Catherine, both from Nairobi Manmin Holiness Church.
Because God covered the sun with clouds and let cool and fresh breeze blow constantly, the members could happily enjoy the competition even more. They rejoiced even when the other teams won and congratulated each other's winning. They competed in unity, goodness, and peace in the Lord's love.
Campfire Worship and Praise! The Holy Spirit's Fire Came Down in the Middle of Praises to God
On the third day, Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee led the Campfire Worship and Praise with assistant leaders, Pastor Yuri Do and Sister Jeongeun Kim. The Performing Arts Committee directed the event with the main theme, 'Praise & Worship' (Sub-theme, "I Love You, Flock of Manmin"). During the event, the members reminded themselves of the love and sacrifice of the shepherd who let them long for and run towards the shepherd's castle in New Jerusalem. The whole concept of the event was intended to express that people who have become the fruit of the shepherd praise and worship God with the shepherd in his castle in New Jerusalem.
The stage had two parts, inside and outside, which represents the world and the shepherd's space, and darkness and light respectively. The screen also had two parts: main screen and assistant screen in the shape of the cross which symbolizes the passageway between God and us.
There were several special performances. There was a Sand Animation that expressed the vision of Manmin which will cover the whole world with the power of re-creation. And the members of the Performing Arts Committee performed with dancing under the title of "All people of all nations."
In the beginning of the event, Senior Pastor Dr. Lee told attendees that the Holy Spirit's fire would come and the works of healing, answers, and blessings happen to them. He then prayed again for them to have more hope for New Jerusalem and run more earnestly. They offered up their hearts through singing and dancing.
