Over 500 physicians from 26 nations
With its first Conference at Seoul in May 2004 and the second Conference last year at Chennai, India, in May 2005, the Conference in Cebu City marks the third WCDN gathering. This year's Conference was an assembly of a global scale that attracted more than 500 physicians and medical students from 26 nations including the United States, Australia, Scandinavian countries including Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Russia, Honduras, Uruguay, Egypt, Israel, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Korea.
Congratulatory message from President of Philippines
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of the Philippines and Minister of Health Francisco Duque sent congratulatory messages to the participants of the Conference, while Dr. Antonio Yapha, Jr, M.D., a member of Congress and Chairman of the Health Committee, attended the Conference and gave a word of encouragement.
Cases of healing of incurable and terminal diseases as manifested through Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee presented
On the first day of the Conference, after a lecture titled "Spirituality and Medicine (3) – A Meaningful Life" by Dr. Joon-ha Hwang, Ph.D., the physicians introduced the cases of God's works of healing. Many physicians expressed profound interest in the instances of divine healing manifested through Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee, Senior Pastor at Manmin Joong-ang Church in Seoul, Korea. They were astonished to learn about the case of Deaconess Young-shim Lee, who had suffered from cerebral hemorrhage but was healed only by prayer and without any medial treatment. They were also astounded by the case of Jae-woo Lee, a toddler who was completely healed, only by prayer and without any scar remaining, of a severe burn in three weeks after the accident. Dr. Sven Frederic, M.D., of Denmark remarked, "If such a Conference took place in Scandinavia, the elite and the educated will be compelled to acknowledge the power of God," and added that he was greatly moved by the case of Deacon Yoonsup Kim, who had been evaluated to be of the first-degree disability* after injuring his vertebrae.
Dr. David Prentice's lecture on stem cell
Following the lecture on stem cell by Dr. David A. Prentice, Ph.D. of the U.S on the second day of the Conference were many corresponding questions and much response to his views on perhaps the most urgent question facing the medical community today. GMA Channel 7, the Philippines' over-the-air channel, covered the Conference for a news report and asked WCDN officials to produce video material of the Conference proceedings for future broadcast.
