"For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God" (1 Corinthians 2:10).
While performing His duty on this earth, Jesus said in John 16:7, "But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you." Jesus performed the duty of a Helper during His earthly ministry, and here He said that another Helper would come and succeed to the duty.
The original ministry of Jesus is to open the way to release mankind from their sins and allow them to become saved children of God. But just His opening the way does not mean fulfillment of perfect salvation of mankind. That is why God sent us another Helper (John 14:17). He is the Holy Spirit, and He searches all things. Today let's delve into how He helps believers.
1. The Helper Holy Spirit helps us realize righteousness.
God sent Jesus to this earth to solve the problem of mankind's sins. Jesus was crucified, shed all His water and blood, and He drew His last breath. However, because He had no sin at all, He overcame death and resurrected. In this way He completed the ministry of salvation. He became the firstfruits of the resurrection and appears on the right hand of God's throne.
Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and accepts Him as the Savior can be forgiven of their sins and can receive the Holy Spirit as a gift. At this point they are justified freely through the work of the precious blood of Jesus Christ. From this point on they have to live a righteous life, and to do so, they need the ministry of the Holy Spirit. To live a righteous life means 'to struggle against and throw away sins even until the point of shedding blood and to lead a godly life according to the word of God.'
The Holy Spirit teaches the children of God the truth, brings it to their remembrances, and guides them into the truth so that they can lead a righteous life in the truth (John 14:26; 16:13). Thus, churches and pastors that are led by the Holy Spirit should teach and guide the believers in casting off sins and living in righteousness.
It is for this true purpose that God has been cultivating mankind to the point of giving up His only begotten Son. He wishes for you not to end up merely a saved child of God, but to come forth as a true child of God who resembles Him.
2. The Holy Spirit helps us have the realization of judgment.
During His 33-year life on this earth, Jesus performed His ministry for 3 years. But the ministry of the Holy Spirit lasts until the last moment of the history of human cultivation. He unceasingly proclaims the second coming of the Lord and the Judgment (Matthew 12:18).
But today, evils have become rampant in the world, and the conscience of people is also becoming stained with more evils. Even believers in Christ are becoming numbed to the Judgment. Such people live a life the same as that of worldly people.
Regrettably, many of them think once they accepted and believe the Lord as their Savior they will surely be saved in any case. They do not know how people will be judged on the last day, what the criteria of Judgment is, and what the result of Judgment will be. They vaguely think they will be able to be saved because they think they believe.
But concerning such people, in Matthew 7:21, Jesus exclaimed, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter." We can be led to do the will of God when we hear what the Holy Spirit says to us and are guided by Him.
When we live in the work of the Holy Spirit, we don't have to think in detail whether or not we should say this and do that, what kind of word we should say in a certain situation, and how we should behave. We will naturally speak with words of truth and do deeds of truth by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides the children of God in the way that they can receive praises, honor, and glory before the throne of God on the Day of Judgment.
If you obey and follow the Holy Spirit's guidance, you will not be judged for dreadful punishments, but for glorious rewards. I urge all of you to be led by the Holy Spirit every day and forcefully advance to a better dwelling place of Heaven daily so that you can stand in glory before the White Throne Judgment.
3. The Helper Holy Spirit helps us understand the heart of Father God.
Our life may be totally changed when we understand the heart of God who created us and has been cultivating us on this earth. So, the Holy Spirit always helps us understand the heart of God (1 Corinthians 2:10; Romans 5:5). The Holy Spirit helps us gain realization concerning how deep God loves us, how abounding His mercy and love are, how long He waits and how patiently He endures.
In this church, the spiritual realm has constantly been taught in detail, and it has been shown as if it were touched and felt with our eyes and hands. The spiritual world has been manifested on the earth so that the church members can feel God who is not seen.
And, the church has also shown the heart of God through numerous manifestations of power. The heart and origin of God has been explained without ceasing, so that many of the members have come to possess the faith of fathers who know Father God who has been from the beginning just as written in 1 John 2:14. But such fruits could not have been borne at all if the Holy Spirit had not let you know the heart and origin of God.
In John 17:8, Jesus said to God, "For the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me."
In a same way that Jesus did, the Holy Spirit also was sent by God, and the Holy Spirit has taught us only the words that God gave to Him. That's why we have been able to understand the origin and heart of God. Moreover, the Holy Spirit is interceding for us according to the will of God so that we may completely change and become true children of God (Romans 8:27).
If we restore the image of God by this help of the Holy Spirit, any of us can resemble God and become His true children.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, if you accept Jesus Christ who opened the way of salvation for all people by the love of the cross, repent of what you did wrong, and receive forgiveness, you can receive the Holy Spirit as a gift and gain the right to become God's children.
God's children who have become sanctified by the help of the Holy Spirit, can spread the gospel to the poor and set free the captives from sins of the world by the works of the Holy Spirit. They can heal people who are suffering from all kinds of diseases and infirmities and proclaim the way of salvation to those who are going the way of death and oppressed by the burden of sins (Luke 4:18-19).
Thereby, they can proclaim the grace of the Lord and the glory of God over the whole world. I pray in the name of the Lord you all may be partakers in this blessed ministry and fully cover the earth with the fiery works of the Holy Spirit in the end time of the world.
