“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4;12)
God placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil together in the middle of the Garden of Eden, and explained to Adam the fruit from the tree of life would give eternal life but the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil bring death. He also said what death is and what the pain of death is like, and commanded him not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil lest he should be subject to death. At the same time, God gave Adam free will concerning whether he would choose to obey God’s command or not. As Adam had no experience of sin and death, after a long period of time he forgot God had told him and disobeyed. His wife first ate its fruit and gave also to her husband with her, and he ate, too. As that result, death came upon them as God said, “in the day that you eat from it you shall surely die.” Their spirit died and they were disconnected from God and came to belong to the devil and Satan. In addition, all his descendants are sinners and doomed to death as the result of their sins. What then is the way to save mankind from the path of death? Luke 4:5-6 NKJV says, “Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, ‘All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.’” The devil said here that someone had handed over all the authority to the devil and he can also give it to whomever he wishes. How then was the authority over all the kingdoms of the world and its glory delivered to the devil? Genesis 1:28 says, “God blessed them; and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’” The first man Adam was given by God the authority to rule over the earth and all things in it, and he was the lord of all things. Unfortunately, his wife was deceived by the Satan-controlling serpent and they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil God had forbidden them to. Romans 6:16 says, “Do you not know that the one to whom you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of that same one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?” If we commit sins, we become a slave to the devil, the ruler of sin and go the path of death. If we do righteousness, we become a child of the righteous God and enter heaven. Adam disobeyed and sinned so that he became a slave to the devil, the ruler of darkness and handed over to the devil the authority God had given. It is because he and all he had belongs to the devil. After Adam sinned and his authority to rule over the world was delivered to the devil, the devil has contaminated the world with sins and evils. With the passage of time, people became more wicked and evil and sin became more rampant in this world. To those who commit sins, the devil brings all kinds of suffering such as disease, poverty, disaster, tears, and sadness, and then drags them into hell, which is eternal death. Through the first man Adam’s disobedience, death entered the world and all became sinners and a slave to the devil. The devil brings on them all kinds of trials and tribulations, and they end up falling into death. God did not plan to send them into hell in creating them, but He wanted them to experience relativity on this earth and enter eternal heaven through human cultivation. God foreknew Adam would eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and all men go the way to death, so He predestined His way for human salvation along with the plan for human cultivation. That is our Lord Jesus Christ.
