Hallelujah Praise Mission Team (Manmin Central Church's Performing Arts Committee)
As written in 2 Chronicles chapter 20, Jehoshaphat, king of Judah appointed those who sang to God in holy attire and had them go out before the army. By doing so, Judah achieved a landslide victory. Like this, God-pleasing praises drive away darkness, resolve problems, and lead to answers and blessing. With various kinds of performances, Manmin Central Church's Performing Arts Committee has played a pivotal role in leading souls to the way of salvation. Among many performance teams is the Hallelujah Praise Mission Team which was the first team to be formed in the church.
The team has helped the church and Dr. Jaerock Lee with active ministries both in and out of Korea
Hallelujah Praise Mission Team was organized by the will of God in February 1987. Their praises helped the congregations in Korea and people in the gatherings in the crusades outside of Korea to open their hearts widely and experience the works of God. Until the 1990s they gave performances in revival meetings, Korean Christian community's united meetings, at military bases and camps, at prisons, the Prosecutors Gospel Crusade, at praise concerts, and at charity concerts. They also appeared on Far East Broadcasting Company and Christian Broadcasting Systems. In the 2000s they performed in Dr. Lee's United Crusades in Uganda, Pakistan, Kenya, the Philippines, Honduras, India, Russia, Germany, Peru, New York in the U.S., and other venues. They sang in local languages and chose the songs, attires, and props considering the local people where they would be performing. People in attendance were deeply moved by their performances they had prepared with their hearts. In 2009, especially, their praise in many languages gained a fervent response in the Israel United Crusade when the gospel returned to Israel. This performance was broadcast in around 220 countries. Praise missionary Joohyun Song said, "Since God gave us grace it was not difficult to sing in many other languages. We could easily memorize lyrics." Sister Jiae Kim, the team leader stated, "The local people praised us wherever we went because our pronunciation was very good. Once, they came to us and talked to us thinking we were good at speaking their language. We know strength will be given when we work for God with love. We have kept it in our hearts doing our ministry."
They increased their faith in the middle of the scene where powerful works unfolded
The Hallelujah Praise Mission Team watched and witnessed the amazing powerful works in person in Dr. Lee's overseas crusades. While Dr. Lee was still praying for the sick from the stage, many people were already healed of their diseases and lined up to testify to their healings. Those who had relied on crutches or wheelchairs threw away the crutches and abandoned wheelchairs as they waited in the line to give their testimonies. "During Estonia Miracle Healing Crusade a man called me to hurry. He pointed to the man next to him and spoke excitedly. Through a translator I came to know the man hadn't been able to walk without his crutch but he came to walk with no crutch. To my surprise, he wasn't even a Christian. He just came there to see the performance. But, God stretched out His hand to him," recalled Sister Jieun Yu. In addition, they praised in the crusades held in Pakistan, India, and Israel where it's difficult to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. The march of faith brought spiritual growth to them. Deaconess Jaehee Hwang said, "I won't forget Pakistan Crusade. On the opening day, the government closed the venue where the crusade was to be held and blocked the entrance way to it. At the entrance, armed policemen stood and the door was firmly locked. Since we, the Hallelujah Praise Team, were already inside the place, we kept praising and the sound came out throughout speakers. The people outside of the place followed our praise. Dr. Lee stayed calm and peaceful with no worry at all. He said the door would be opened at 12 P.M. Just as said, the door opened at 12 P.M. The people rushed into the place like flood. It was awesome! I thought faith is really great."
To become the praise army in holy attire who proclaims to the whole world
The members not only perform as a team but also record the songs for the Manmin albums consisting of God-given songs, sing as soloists, and work as praise leaders and anchorpersons of Manmin Magazine on GCN TV. Now there are 25 members on the team. At the end of 2010 the team was divided into the Hallelujah Praise Mission Team, the Hallelujah Male Praise Team, and the Hallelujah Instrument Team. They perform respectively according to their individual team make-up, but they perform together in crusades or certain events in and out of Korea. Hallelujah Instrument Team members are involved in various works. They play their instruments during services; arrange songs for the Manmin albums; make the Manmin music books; record instrumental accompaniment for performances done in Handkerchief Healing Meetings; arrange and play the special performances during services; train new players; and arrange songs and play in the church events like Easter Performance, Anniversary Celebration Performance, Christmas Celebration Performance, and New Year's Day Performance. Hallelujah Male Praise Team is loved by the church members for their powerful and magnificent praise. The team has improved their praise skill both in spirit and body to give praise that awakens souls. They have also studied various genres of music and performances. Until they become sanctified and fulfill their duties as the praise army in holy attire, the Hallelujah Praise Mission Team will never stop praising for souls' salvation.
Hallelujah Praise Mission Team was giving glory to God with their praises in English, Estonian, and Russian during Dr. Lee's Estonia Miracle Healing Crusade.
