Deacon Chhanyang Rai, age 31, Nepal Manmin Church
Before I went to church, I thought that there would be nothing after death. I thought of this world as everything. Because my life was so dry and desolate, I hung around pubs, bars, and nightclubs. I had no goal and just led a meaningless life.
In January 2006, my brother asked me to go to church. He said it was established by a Korean, which got my attention and I followed him. The church was Nepal Manmin Church. It was quite big and clean compared to other churches. They were joining Manmin Central Church's worship services via GCN and listening to Dr. Jaerock Lee's sermons. His messages were about God's love, the Lord's love, Heaven, Hell, sins, and repentance. He also let us know why we live a life on the earth. I was so pleased to know the purpose of my life.
On December 25, 2010, the God of love gave another chance for Manmin members to turn back from sins, repent, and gain a new life through Senior Pastor's prayer of intercession. Senior Pastor implored his loving members to be wary of sins with love and tears. His love touched my hardened heart. Pastor Grace H. Lee of Nepal Manmin Church asked me not to sin any more. After that I repented before God and started to live a renewed life.
I read Senior Pastor's books The Message of the Cross, The Measure of Faith, Heaven, Hell, and My Life My Faith. The Message of the Cross taught me the joy of living a Christian life, and his testimonial memoirs Tasting Eternal Life before Death and My Life My Faith moved my heart to tears.
In 2012 at the New Year's Service, Senior Pastor, who was in his mountain prayer, expressed his heart to the members singing the song "The Castle of the Shepherd" by phone. He urged us to go to New Jerusalem together for sure. I was deeply moved by his great love and again shed a lot of tears.
I deleted many pop songs from my cell phone and computer, and began listening only to Manmin Praise songs that fill me with God's love and give me hope for Heaven. I give all thanks and glory to God who allows the praises with beautiful melodies and words.
