Evangelism is letting other people know 'the way of truth'. In order to truly evangelize other people, we should deliver the "Message of the Cross" which elaborates this way to salvation.
We should let them first know God is the only true Deity, He created heavens, earth, and all things in them, and He controls everything. And we should also teach them there are Heaven and Hell, and since all people have sins they cannot but go to Hell.
Next, we should tell them that Jesus Christ is the only Savior who can solve the problems of our sins. We also ought to explain about why Jesus is the only Savior and the providence of salvation. In addition, we need to deliver the Lord's resurrection, ascension, and His second coming and the last judgment.
Now let's look into effective ways to evangelize people in detail.
◆ First, you should receive the work of the Holy Spirit
If you want to evangelize other people, you should be filled with the Holy Spirit first by praying fervently. If you are full of the Spirit, the Spirit will work when you try to evangelize people and move and open their hearts. In order to lead them to church and allow for them to register, we must pray for the souls first and sometimes fast so that Satan will not be able to disturb the work.
◆ Second, you should help them realize the value of the gospel
Some people do not know the value of the gospel, and they sometimes reject it no matter how hard Christians try to evangelize them. You don't have to push them to go to church or act in a servile manner. You should just wait for a good opportunity to help them gain understanding on their own.
Without some enlightenment you should not just say, "Believe Jesus!" Instead, you may be able to say, "Do you know why Christians say Jesus is the only Savior?" People might be curious and respond to the question.
Or, you can invite them to a special event of the church or even provide them with a sermon tape, CD, or books that plant faith in them. Or you can steadily deliver the church's newspaper to them. By doing so, you must help them to first realize the value of the gospel. Then, you can talk about going to church when they seem to feel good and lead them to accept the gospel without any resistance.
◆ Third, you should give out the fragrance of Christ with love and care
If you do not have love or do not want to sacrifice yourself for the people who you want to evangelize, you cannot lead them to salvation and eternal life. Although one closes his heart towards faith in God, if you unchangingly show your care and true love in action and sacrifice yourself in devotion, he will end up opening his heart and accepting the gospel (James 2:15-16).
◆ Fourth, you can take good use of your own and other church members' testimonies
Most people have concerns and worries, so if you tell them about the testimonies of people who solved their problems through the works of God, they will show interest and listen to you. You can take advantage of the many books or pictures concerning signs, wonders, extraordinary works, and marvelous things to evangelize people who suffer from diseases. Above all, the most effective story is yours because you can prove it yourself.
◆ Fifth, you should spread the works of God widely
Quite many people have come to church after they received Manmin News on the street or found it in front of their houses or read Dr. Lee's books. Because many of members spread the gospel diligently, the fruit has been borne at the right time.
The members who have evangelized many people and led them to the church have one thing in common: they boast of their church and their pastor. Although people do not know who God is and who Jesus Christ is, there are many who come to church after they hear that a certain church is good and a certain pastor is good. Therefore, talking about the works of God and the Holy Spirit manifested in the church and the sermon delivered in the church is a good way to attract people's interest and to evangelize them.
◆ Sixth, you should solve people's problems in a spiritual way
One of the effective ways is to help people gain realization concerning matters that are the most important and urgent to them. You can let them know there is a solution to their problem, and help them ask the Lord for it. For instance, when you want to evangelize a person with a disease, you can show him the way to being set free from the disease and testify to God the Healer. When a person has a problem in his business, you can advise him to bring down God's blessing by living by the Word of God, not try to solve it in man's wisdom and ways. At the same time, you can talk about the living God who can solve problems and make everything prosperous. By doing so, you can show them the way to solving their problems.
