Special Cooperation in the Festival for the Unity of the Young and the Elderly
At 11 a.m. on December 7, the Festival for the Unity of the Young and the Elderly was held at the Jung-gu Assembly Hall under the auspice of the Love-sharing Welfare Center and with the support of the Elderly People's Association of Jung-gu Office of Seoul. Our church made a special cooperation in this event. Hosted by Mr. Jong-geun Wang, former anchor for KBS (Korean Broadcasting System), this event was aimed at building a new sense of family and society. In the first part of the program, Rev. Dr. Esther Chung, Former President of Seoul Women's University and Vice Chairperson of the United Holiness Church of Jesus Christ gave a message which stressed, "Let us not limit ourselves according to our age; with a heart and mind of youth, let us rather try to become more positive and share our love with others in society." During the second part of the program, Pastor Hyunhyuk Oh, Chief Director of the Love-sharing Welfare Center, gave the opening remarks, and Mrs. Hwasuk Chang, head of the Ilsan Branch of Love-sharing Welfare Center, made a progress report. And during the third part of the event, there was a dance performance by Arts Dance Team, a special praise by the Sound of Light Chorus, and a performance of Korean folk medley by the Saerem Korean Traditional Performance Team, the three of which belong to Performing Arts Committee of Manmin Central Church. Pastor Hyunhyuk Oh, overjoyed by the outcome of the event, stated, "I prayed that today's event would be like a heavenly feast that brings joy to the elderly, and that's exactly what happened." Wearing beautiful Hanbok (Korean traditional clothes), the leaders of the Second Women's United Mission of our church ushered the event.
