In the year 2009, God blessed our church to become an outstanding church. Manmin News selected the top 12 news stories that made history in our church's ministry.
1. The 2009 Israel United Crusade with Dr. Jaerock Lee
The biggest sensation of last year was the 2009 Israel United Crusade with Dr. Jaerock Lee. Even though the gospel originated in Israel, people of this country are still waiting for the Messiah. They do not recognize Jesus Christ as the Savior of mankind. This crusade was held under the support of Crystal Forum at ICC (International Convention Center) in Jerusalem from September 6th and 7th. The crusade was attended by people from thirty-six nations and broadcast to two hundred twenty nations through thirty-three TV companies in 8 different languages. After boldly proclaiming 'Only Jesus Christ is the Messiah,' the Speaker prayed for the sick. Soon the stage was filled with people who testified to their healings.
Twelve mission trips began on July 23, 2007 and modeled the Lord's ministry. Through them Dr. Jaerock Lee has spread God's powerful works and the holiness gospel from northern to southern Israel. It was a miraculous thing that Israeli Christians, who are socially persecuted, spontaneously gathered their strength and held this kind of Christian crusade. During this time the churches were directly experiencing the power of God they were becoming stronger and experiencing revival.
Israel had been suffering from serious water shortage. During the Israel United Crusade, Dr. Jaerock Lee prayed for rain in the dry season. In spite of the fact that in September it does not rain in Israel, after the prayer, rain started pouring beginning in the northern part and the central part. At the request of Israeli pastors, Dr. Jaerock Lee again prayed for rain from Seoul on October 4. From the next day, it rained in many parts of Israel. This caused a big sensation. The news of rain was carried on The Jerusalem Post, the biggest English daily in Israel and The Col Hair, a renowned Hebrew weekly magazine in Israel. In particular, on the website, The Church Report of USA, a monthly magazine which chooses and announces the 50 most effective churches, a news article titled "The Message of the Cross Goes to the End of the Earth" was posted.
2. Manmin Members Not Afraid of Swine Flu
Influenza A (H1N1), called swine flu, originated from Mexico late last April, and has quickly spread to the whole world. Many people stopped having meetings or holding events for fear that they should be stricken with this disease. But Manmin members attended various worship services, the Daniel Prayer Meeting and District Prayer Meeting as usual. Just as it is written in Exodus 15:26 "And He said, 'If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am your healer,'" Manmin members believe God will surely protect them if they live by the word. Even though some members were stricken with swine flu, they received healing by Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee's prayer and glorified God. Following Dr. Jaerock Lee' prayer for the disappearing of swine flu in Israel, the death toll was zero on September 8 when he prayed there, and the number of patients drastically fell since then.
3. The Power of God Manifested without Ceasing
 As it is said in Mark 16:20 "And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed," when God's powerful works are manifested many people obtain true faith by hearing, witnessing and experiencing the works of God. In the providence of God for saving countless souls at the end of times when the world is drenched in sins, works of power are being manifested through Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee. Manmin members are leading their lives of faith experiencing this power of God.
The appearance of a rainbow symbolizes that God is with us (Revelation 4:3). Starting with a circular rainbow that appeared over Manmin Central Church on May 15, 1998, for the last 12 years various kinds of rainbows including circular, double and triple rainbows have been appearing not only at our church but also at all our branch churches in Korea and overseas countries.
And we experienced the control of meteorological phenomenon during major church events. At the Summer Retreat, held in July and August which are the hottest time of the year in Korea, we enjoyed cool and pleasant weather. And through the dragonflies that appeared through spiritual space, we could have the Summer Retreat in a pleasant environment without any bugs and insects.
The dragonflies that softly sat on the hands, heads and shoulders of members brought more joy to the Summer Retreat. And also, although the 'Love-Kimchi Sharing' event was held in the cold November during the winter, the weather was so warm.
4. Praises of Manmin Given from God
Praise that God wants us to give is to be offered from our true heart and perfect faith, to have the lyrics and melodies that are pure and clear and not to be tainted by the worldly trend. Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee asked God for lyrics and rhythms that would glorify God and fill the hearts of those who sing and listen to them with power and fullness of the Holy Spirit. So, God gave us melodies along with lyrics in the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Up to now, God has given us 80 songs including 'The Confession of the Lord', 'The Heart of the Shepherd', 'The Secrets of Blessings', 'Vision', 'Heaven', and 'The Grace of God'. The Performing Arts Committee of our church has released the first, second and the third albums with these God-given songs. The songs are being translated into English, Chinese and Japanese at the request of overseas members. Manmin members confess that when they praised God with these songs, the darkness went away, problems were solved and the blessings came upon them.
5. Handkerchief Meetings Held Domestically and in Overseas Countries
 The 'Handkerchief of Power' is awakening the whole world. When the Lord's servants and missionaries prayed with the handkerchief on which Dr. Jaerock Lee prayed while visiting members or leading meetings, many people experienced the power of the almighty God by receiving healing and solution of problems.
There were many requests from overseas to hold meetings. President Boknim Lee (Manmin Prayer Center) led the 2009 DR Congo United Evangelism Crusade from last April 25 to 26. Pastor Mikyung Lee led handkerchief meetings in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines, and Dasmarinas, Cavite State, the Philippines in February, and also in December, she led handkerchief meetings in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry States of India. Pastor Taesik Gil led pastor's seminar and handkerchief meetings in Lahore, Karachi, Kashmir, Sahiwal and Faisalabad. Pastor Heesun Lee led handkerchief meetings in Japan in the cities of Nagoya, Osaka and Maizuru in September and also in Calgary, Canada in November. In September many healing works were manifested at the handkerchief meetings that Pastor Sungchil 'Rainbow' Lee led in the Mekong Delta and Hochiminh City of Vietnam in June, and in Bangkhae, Chiang Lai and Chiang Mai in Thailand.
6. Having the Biggest Number of Branch and Associative Churches
Amidst God's blessing, our church has about 9,000 branch and associative churches in Korea and overseas countries. Through this, the church aims to become a global church by accomplishing world evangelization.
The world evangelism covers the entire globe including Asian and Middle Eastern countries such as Taiwan, Japan, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Mongolia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Samoa, Fiji, Israel, Egypt, Palestine and so on, African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, DR Congo, Congo, Sudan, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Ghana, Burundi, Rwanda, Botswana, Swaziland, Cote d'Ivoire, South Africa, Gabon, Angola, Liberia, Nigeria, etc, European countries such as France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Finland, Russia, Italy, Belarus, Estonia, Dagestan, etc, and countries in American continent such as the United States, Canada, Peru, Honduras, El Salvador, Argentina, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, Bolivia, Panama, Chile, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Uruguay, and Brazil.
7. Daniel Prayer Meeting Lasted 8,400 Days for 24 Years
In our church the fire of prayer is never extinguished all the year because Daniel Prayer Meeting led by President Boknim Lee is being held every night from 9 PM to 11:40 PM (Until 11 PM on Saturday and Sunday). The pray meeting celebrated the anniversary of its 400th "21-day session" during the Two-session Continuous Special Daniel Prayer Meeting which was held from the past November 2 to December 13, 2009. We have set the period of 21 days as one 'session of prayer' with a specific prayer title. We have prayed 8,400 days for 24 years from 1986 and offered up 400 sessions of prayer. Through Daniel Prayer Meetings the whole congregation cried out praying for the church, salvation of souls, ministry of Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee, construction of sanctuary, the Lord's servants and church workers, missionaries, country and people, and for the prosperity of their own souls. Countless answers have been received. Now the church is offering the 401st Daniel Prayer Meeting and it is attended by members of Manmin Central Church, domestic churches, local sanctuaries, and members all over the globe via GCN and the Internet.
8. "Spirit, Soul and Body I" Listed on the Bestseller List in Korea
Spirit, Soul and Body I, a wonderful account of the seeking and discovering of "I" has been ranked on the bestseller list of the 'Religion' section at Kyobo Bookstore. This book was published on June 26 and has been loved by readers as a bestseller since last July. This book is receiving acclamation not only from the Lord's servants and members of our church but also brothers and sisters of other churches and even unbelievers. So it's being sold and gaining popularity at major bookstores and Christian bookstores in Korea.
This book clearly explains the spiritual meaning of the spirit, the soul and the body that compose a human being. This book will continue to be read by those who want to know about the origin of human beings. Spirit, Soul and Body II is to be published during the first half of 2010.
9. Opening of Manmin Beach in Muan, Jeonnam Province
On July 28, the Dedication Service was offered in celebration of the opening of Muan Manmin Beach. It is a beach that was opened on the sea side area of Muan Manmin Church. This became a sensation because a church made a beach by spreading sand. This is a task usually done by the government or a community.
Manmin members have been having amazing experiences in recovering eyesight, healing of various diseases, and receiving answers to their hearts' desires by drinking Muan Sweet Water with faith.
People from Korea and overseas countries continue to visit this scene of power so the beach will be used as a resort for many people who visit this place during the hot summer months.
 
10. The Sermons of Dr. Jaerock Lee Began to Be Broadcast in HD
HD is an abbreviation for 'High Definition'. The ratio of horizontal lines and vertical lines of HD screen is 16:9 and its screen has resolution of 2 million pixels so the quality of HD screen is two times better than the previous SD screen. A very slight mark or perspiration on the face can be seen. Manmin TV started making HD programs in 2009. Manmin TV, which has prepared HD programs in preparation of Digital Broadcasting in 2012, produced Dr. Jaerock Lee's sermon programs in HD since last June. In an effort to make high quality programs, Manmin TV is planning to change its current system continually toward the goal of making HD programs.
11. "Manmin News" Began to Be Issued Weekly
Manmin News, which was first issued on May 17, 1987, issued its 400th issue as the special edition for the 27th Church Anniversary. Manmin News made another fresh start with a new design and began to be issued on a weekly basis. This change will enhance the prestige of Manmin Church as it is becoming a global church. So, it has become a global evangelical paper not only for Korean church members, but also for overseas members and unbelievers as well. In this time of world evangelism, Manmin News can be read on the Internet and is being translated into 13 languages including English, Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Tamil, French, Japanese, and Portuguese, and it is playing a big part in overseas ministry.
12. Three hundred eighty Members Participated in Manmin Pilgrimage
Manmin Pilgrimage, in which 380 members participated visited the three countries of Egypt, Israel, and Italy and toured the Vatican for 12 days from September 1 to 12 led by Pastor Heesun Lee. As a special opportunity they had a memorable time attending the Israel United Crusade. During the pilgrimage trip, God allowed nice weather for them, and all the schedules finished without disturbance. Local travel guides were impressed by and complimented Manmin members seeing them always acting in organized way all throughout the pilgrimage.
