Dr. Jaerock Lee, Senior Pastor of Manmin Central Church

In 1980s, the Church experienced explosive growth and revival like the Early Church
Manmin Central Church had its opening service on July 25, 1982. Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee delivered a message with the title, "The Treasure of Treasures Is Faith" with 9 adults and 4 children in attendance. The building was not completed at that time and the church didn't have furniture either. The members prayed in one accord for 5 to 6 hours a day. Then, God sent new church members every week and they received the necessary things they needed.
As a result, for the anniversary service on October 10, just 77 days after the first service, they had more than 100 members and they had everything they needed for the sanctuary as well. God blessed the church to have explosive revival right from the beginning of the church, just like the Early Church. During the service not just the sanctuary, but the space for Dr. Lee's residence and the corridor were filled with members. Some people had to sit on the stairs or even in the bathroom. Finally on December 31, 1984, the church moved to a place with about 7,000 sq. ft. or 650 sq. meters in area. But this second sanctuary was also very quickly filled to capacity after just one revival meeting.
So, after two years, in 1987, they moved to the third sanctuary which had about double the size of the second sanctuary. The third sanctuary was also filled in three months, again, after one revival meeting. So, they moved to the fourth sanctuary in Guro Dong, in February 1991. To commemorate moving into this sanctuary, they held a two-week revival meeting. In the Friday all night service which was the last meeting, the number of registered members reached 10,000.
The church grew up at an explosive rate for the 10 years after the opening. As a result, it was placed among the top 50 churches in the world by "Christian World" of the United States, in February 1993.
In May 1983, God made Senior Pastor Dr. Lee stop going to revival meetings at other churches and had him concentrate on prayers. It was to give him the answers to the prayers He had offered for the previous 7 years. Namely, it was to give explanations of the Bible, especially on difficult passages. So, after the Sunday evening service, he went on mountain prayers and prayed for the 5 work days, and then came back on Friday.
The sermon series "The Message of the Cross" was received through those prayers. Since this session of messages was compiled as a book, it's been published in 60 languages. Afterwards, the Lord explained about the depths of the spiritual realm concerning Genesis. God also gave him the series of messages on the Fruits of Holy Spirit, Beatitudes, and Spiritual Love with which we can partake in the divine nature of God.
In May 1984, during the week in which Dr. Lee's birthday was to be celebrated, God commanded him not to go back to the church for the Friday all-night service but keep on praying with a 3-day fast. Then, as soon as the 3-day fast was finished, the Lord began to explain to him about Heaven. In May 1986, he was ordained as a pastor. The Lord moved him to offer 21-day vowed prayer, so he tried to have communication with God along with fasting. Then the Lord finally began to explain about the Revelation of John. The church members realized the end time was drawing nearer. They were spiritually on the alert and spread the gospel even more fervently. The church experienced more growth and revival.
Even before Dr. Lee opened this church, many sick people were healed through his prayers. Then, after the opening of the church, signs were manifested every week. Even those who had terminal diseases were healed by his prayers. Those with crutches came to walk and jump. The blind came to see, the mute to speak, and infertile couples conceived babies through prayers. People with paralysis, cancers, tuberculosis, leukemia and many other diseases were healed, and the demon-possessed were also set free.
For this reason, Dr. Lee was invited to churches all over the country to speak for revival meetings. After he was ordained as a pastor, he spoke for united meetings of Korean Christian Churches every month, and he primarily preached about the "Message of the Cross". It was because the message brought about grace of repentance and divine healing.
In 1990s, active national ministry was achieved in the Korean church and broadcasting ministry started in earnest
Romans 5:4 says that proven character brings about hope. In 1990s, Dr. Lee went through a big trial as a pastor, but it fulfilled the conditions to have a great hope.
Dr. Lee was dismissed from his pastorship by the assembly to which his church belonged to. His church had grown up rapidly and became the biggest church in the assembly. Some pastors were jealous and wrongfully accused him and his church. Finally they decided to dismiss him, but the council that decided didn't even have the proper number of council members to do it.
However, God caused all things to work together for good. He revealed His glory in a different dimension than before. God let the church be established as a new assembly so they could freely preach the will of God without unjust hindrances from anybody. On July 1, 1991, the church was established as "The United Holiness Church of Jesus Christ" and came to preach 'The Fivefold Gospel of Holiness'.
For the next 7 years, from 1992 to 1998, the church staff was very busy. They held many Christian events. The Nissi Orchestra, choir, choruses, dancing teams, soloists, ushers and voluntary workers of the church served in various events held in other places outside the church.
In 1993, he went to Washington D.C. in August and to Los Angeles in September to speak for revival meetings. In 1994, he went to Washington D.C and Baltimore. He was invited to Los Angeles once again in 1995. In February 1996, he delivered messages in Hawaii. In July, 1996, in Argentina, he spoke for a pastors' seminar with the title, "Secrets of Church Growth." As he promised, he led a pastors' seminar in Argentina once again in October 1997 where the total attendance reached more than 8,000.
In 1990s, the gate of evangelism in Africa and Japan was opened. In July 1994, Dr. Lee spoke for a church leaders' seminar in Tanzania. After the seminar, he visited a Maasai village and delivered the gospel to them as well. Dr. Myongho Cheong interpreted into English, and he was sent as a missionary to Africa the following year. Since then, he has been spreading the gospel and awakening souls in 54 countries of Africa. Now, abundant fruits have been borne, so there are more than 5,000 branch and associate churches.
In January 1994, this church sent its first missionary to Japan. In November, Dr. Lee led a crusade in Iida, and in 1996, he led a crusade in Shinshu. In every crusade, many signs and wonders were manifested. Now the church has 12 branch churches from Okinawa, the southernmost part of Japan, to Hokkaido, the northernmost part.
In 1990s, the church conducted active broadcasting ministries. Dr. Lee's sermons began to be broadcast by various stations—in "Good news from a distant place" of Far East Broadcasting Center from March 1990, by CBS Washington from August 1990, by Busan CBS from December 1992, by Ee Ri CBS from November 1993, by Chungjoo CBS from February 1994, and by Washington Christian Radio System from May 1994. The broadcasting hours increased every year until it reached 900 minutes per week.
Manmin Central Church held a 2-week special revival meeting in May every year beginning in 1993, and it was held for 12 consecutive years until 2004. Fiery works of the Holy Spirit took place every year in the revival meetings. Those whose bodies were completely broken due to traffic accidents became normal. A premature baby weighing only 1.2 kg and having so many problems in the body was healed and grew up healthily. One year there was a person who had a stroke and was unconscious. He was brought on a stretcher, and he regained consciousness and a new life through prayer.
Manmin Central Church has been diligently working since the establishment of the denomination in 1991. Then, the church went into a new phase through the 3 tests in 1998 and 1999. The church did not pay back evil with evil but only with goodness and love. This filled up the measure of justice and a different level of glory began to be revealed through this church from 2000.
In 2000s, the power of God the Creator filled the whole world
In July 2000, the church led the Uganda Holy Gospel Crusade. God especially moved the Minister of Justice to help the crusade from the beginning to end. Along with explosive works of divine healing, the crusade was also introduced world-wide by CNN. Many AIDS patients attended and many of them were healed.
