"And He said, 'If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am your healer'" (Exodus 15:26).
God wants His loving children to stay healthy without any diseases. Every disease has its cause. Now we are going to delve into what to prepare to meet God who is our Healer and the causes of diseases.
1. To Meet God, We Should Prepare the Vessel of 'Faith'
In the Bible, you can find that amazingly powerful works took place. The blind came to see, the deaf to hear, and the crippled came to walk and jump. Various diseases including leprosy were healed, and even the dead came to life. When many people witnessed the power, however, some received answers through the power but others did not. This difference was made depending on whether they had faith or not.
In Matthew 9, there is a record of a woman who had a hemorrhage for twelve years. She believed she would get well if she just touched Jesus' garment. Just as she believed, she was completely healed when she touched His garment. Mark 2 records the healing of a paralytic. He was unable to come close to Jesus because there were so many people around Him. So, his friends went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles with his stretcher in front of Jesus. The paralytic and his friends had faith in which he would be healed once he got to Jesus.
As seen in the cases above, to receive answers from God, you should surely prepare a vessel of 'faith'. As long as you have faith, nothing is impossible for God; He is the Almighty (Jeremiah 32:27).
In this church, you have heard, seen, and experienced many powerful works of healing. Even incurable diseases such as AIDS, leukemia, and various cancers were healed. All kinds of diseases including lung diseases and herniated disks were cured. One person's leg, which was shorter than the other due to polio, was lengthened, and fractured bones and torn ligaments were restored. Many who came on wheelchairs stood up and walked and jumped. The blind came to see, and the mute to speak. People who had no hope for recovery due to carbon monoxide gas-poisoning, and others with their lives at stake were soon healed and recovered when they received prayer by faith.
In this same way, in the overseas crusades, countless people were healed all at once when I prayed for the sick from the stage after the message.
2. The Causes of Diseases
1) Diseases Are Caused by Sin
When God created heavens, the earth, and all things in them, there was no disease, no pain, no disaster, and no death. But after the first man Adam committed a sin, infectious agents such as germs and virus came to exist. That is, Adam's sin is the initial cause of all diseases.
Exodus 15:26 implies that the cause of diseases is sin. "…the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians" in the verse refer to all diseases on the earth.
It is to note that the case of the blind man recorded in John 9 is an exceptional one. He was born blind that the works of God would be displayed in him. In most cases, however, the original cause of diseases or infirmities lies in sin.
Thus, if you want to have the problem of your diseases or infirmities solved, you should first solve the problem of sin. In Mark 2, when the paralytic came to Jesus, He saw his faith and said, "Son, your sins are forgiven." After that He told him to get up and pick up his stretcher and go home. Immediately, he got up and walked.
In other words, you should first repent of your sin of not having lived by the word of God, and then receive forgiveness. You can then be healed of all kinds of diseases.
2) Diseases Occur When You Break the Law of the Physical Law
Some people keep unhealthy habits without caring for their body. They may overwork, eat irregularly or too much. They sometimes do not eat nutritionally balanced meals. This is breaking the laws of the flesh that God set. For this reason, such people cannot be protected.
Some even may harm their own body by drinking alcohol or smoking. They are unable to control themselves and hold fast to the desire for alcohol or cigarettes. They must repent that they had not lived by the Word. They should not abuse the body given to them by God anymore and try to keep it holy.
3) Nervous or Mental Problems Cause Some Diseases
Some diseases occur when people continue to be subjected to stress due to worries and anxieties, or when they suppress extreme anger, hatred, or sorrow. They may develop problems in their nervous system or mental problems such as neurosis, depression, and anxiety attacks, and this in turn causes problems in other parts of the body. In some cases, some who are mentally weak surrender their minds and thoughts to the flesh, so that they are captured by the forces of darkness.
However, such diseases cannot come to you if you live by the Word of God. God says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." He also tells you to rejoice always, give thanks in everything, love your enemies, and not to hate. But you cannot forgive but begrudge and hate because you still have hatred, a hot temper, and ill feelings. You can neither give thanks, nor rejoice, but hold worries within. It shows that you do not have trust in God, which is an act of unrighteousness before God. Therefore, you should repent of it.
4) Some Diseases Are Brought by the Enemy Devil
It is the case of being captured by Satan, or possessed by demons. There are also physical disabilities or diseases that the enemy devil and Satan bring. They usually appear in a family where idol-worshiping is severe. It's because idol-worshiping is a sin that God detests most.
Exodus 20:5 says, "You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me."
When people stand against God by idol-worship, its aftermath reaches their third or fourth generations. Serious problems such as disease, disability, mental disorder, alcohol addiction, depression, and suicide keep occurring in these families. Even such a family, however, can be protected if they accept the Lord, and live by the Word of God.
In addition, either your ancestors or you did seriously evil things; you may get captured by Satan, or be possessed by demons. It is the case when they did serious evil which goes beyond the human limit even though they profess their faith. By the way, if the patient has a mental disorder so that he cannot listen to and understand the Word, he/she should not come to the temple of God. But the family should repent on his/her behalf in love, and come to receive prayer by faith on his/her behalf.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, if you prepare a vessel of faith that God wants and solve the problem of sin, everything will be possible. I pray in the name of the Lord that you will receive healing by faith, solve all kinds of life problems, and enjoy good health both in spirit and body.
