 2002 India Miracle Healing Prayer Festival was held from Oct. 10th to 13th, 2002, at the Marina Beach in Chennai where the apostle Thomas sacrificed himself for the Lord. The population of India is 1.1 billion and over one-sixth of the global population. More than 80 % of India people are Hindu and many religions were originated from India like Buddhism, Shikism and Jainism. Christianity is less than 2.7 %.
The organizing committee (Chairman: Rev. Owen Roberts) for 2002 India Miracle Healing Prayer Festival advertised that meeting through all kinds of mass media. And they had many seminars for pastors and miracle healing meetings with the power handkerchief that Rev. Dr. Jae-Rok Lee laid his hand on and prayed for healing power. Wherever healing meetings were held with that power handkerchief, many works of healing miracles were performed and they were surprised greatly. They became excited and showed expectation for the opening of 2002 India Miracle Healing Prayer Festival.
By the way, Selvi J. Jayalalithaa, chief minister of the Tamil Nadu government issued the ordinance of banning forcible conversion on October 5th, several days before 2002 India Miracle Healing Prayer Festival was opened. She said that the ordinance would be applied from 10th October.

 Organizing committee for 2002 India Miracle Healing Prayer Festival said that Christians were 30 - 40 % of all attendance and 50 - 60 % of all attendance were people with other religions like Hinduism, Muslim, Shikism and Jainism.
