Deacon Joon-mo Yang (Treasury, Choongbook Province; New Chungjoo Manmin Church)
Throughout 20 years of his life in public service, sincerity of Deacon Joon-mo Yang (Treasury, Choongbook Province; New Chungjoo Manmin Church) is evident from all the rewards and citations he has received. In working, Deacon Yang always trusts in God in prayer. Then in acquiring a piece of land on which the long-desired provincial office building was to be built, he underwent a great experience in his faith in Jesus Christ. "The current building had been built in 1937 and because most of the structure was owned by the national government, there were many difficulties in maintaining it. If we were to relocate, the land on which the building stood had to be turned over to Seoul. We needed to obtain the ownership of the land and had made numerous attempts, but failed each time. But what was impossible for the might of man became possible in God." After hearing about the predicament from other officials involved with the deal, Deacon Yang told his colleagues, "I serve Jesus Christ. I will receive prayer from my Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee." The next day on August 22, 2004, he received Rev. Dr. Lee's prayer for the transfer of ownership of the land from Seoul to Choongbook Province. Three months later on November 25, the ownership of the land was transferred to Choongbook Province. For his work, Deacon Yang received a 100% bonus, an increase in pay, and an opportunity to study and train in Australia. Today, Deacon Yang confesses that he only hopes that the love and blessings of our Lord be spread to a greater number of people.
