Beginning on August 3, the 2009 Manmin Summer Retreat equipped the Manmin family with the spiritual armor of God in the midst of His beautiful creation. Church members were able to examine their faith through various messages titled, "The Heart" (John 15:7). The speakers were: Pastors Heesun Lee, Mikyung Lee, Hyunchul Choo, Dongcho Shin, Sooyul Cho, and Junghoon Ji. Attendees also became filled with the Holy Spirit through the Holy Spirit Prayer Meetings led by President Boknim Lee. While attending a wide range of events prepared by each mission team, participants had a time of spiritual growth where they were able to confirm their vision and God's will for each of their lives.

Visitors From 13 Different Countries Attended the Retreat, Experiencing Many Signs and Wonders

It was a global summer retreat attended by visitors from 13 countries, including the United States, Canada, Japan, Indonesia, China, Costa Rica, DR Congo, Kenya, and more.

Despite the weather forecast that predicted rain and scorching hot temperatures during the first week of August, God answered Dr. Jaerock Lee's prayer by providing beautiful weather with pleasant temperatures. Clouds covering the sun provided shade in the day, and rainbows, various shapes of clouds, and movement of stars were manifested by God so all attendees could experience His amazing wonders and power.

And the dragonflies appeared in all the designated areas where the summer retreat was held, and gently sat on the participants' fingers, heads, and shoulders, bringing even more joy to them. The dragonflies were an interesting gift from God that showed His love for His children which everyone was very thankful for. Dragonflies are known to eat bugs and worms like mosquitoes and moths, so thanks to the dragonflies, the summer retreat was free from pesky insects. The residents in the area and nearby hostel staff stated in surprise, "Because we are surrounded by mountains, it is our daily job to get rid of dead bugs, but all the bugs disappeared while the Manmin Church members were here, and then they all came back as soon as the church members left."

Becoming One in the Bond of the Holy Spirit

From August 3rd through the 5th, members of the local branch churches including Masan, Miryang, Daejeon, Pusan, etc., and branch church members from China, and other international visitors also participated in the Men's and Women's Missions Group Summer Retreat held in the Muju Jeonnam Province.

And young members of the College, Canaan, Young Adults', Mary's, Paul's, and 'Salt and Light' Mission gathered at the Hundai Sungwoo Resort in Hoengseong-Gun, Gangwon Province for a "6 Mission Joint Summer Retreat".

Summer Retreats for the Hearing-Impaired Mission was held at the Muan Manmin Church in the Jeonnam Province from the 3rd through the 5th of August; the Student's Mission at the Sobaek Mountain Youth Hostel from the 3rd through the 6th; and the Lord's Love Mission held their retreat at the World Youth Hostel in Hoengseong Gangwon Province from the 18th through the 20th of August.

Through this year's summer retreats, Manmin members were able to arm themselves with the fullness of God's love and the Holy Spirit. The retreats equipped members to go out and fill the world with the fragrance of Christ. We give all glory and thanks to the living God who was with us throughout the duration of the summer retreats and who healed and blessed us in answer to our prayers and thereby gave us overflowing testimonies to share!
