When raising small children, the parents always keep their eyes on their children and if there are any obstacles standing in their children's way, the parents are quick to help them to prevent an injury. If the children are out of reach from their parents, however, the parents can neither meddle in the children's affairs nor protect them. By the same token, God always protects and walks with His beloved children when they walk in the light and in the truth. When they go astray from God and walk in darkness and in the untruth, however, God cannot meddle in their lives or provide them with His protection.
"The LORD will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they shall come out against you one way and shall flee before you seven ways" (Deuteronomy 28:7).
