The great fore-fathers of faith recorded in the Bible not only had strong faith, but they were also faithful in their personal lives. For example, David, as a shepherd, protected his sheep from lions and bears at the risk of his life (1 Samuel 17:34). It was not a fun for such a young man who was so curious about so many things to sit all alone in a field watching the flocks. But he accomplished all his duties and when he had faithfully laid a firm foundation for his life, God allowed him to become the king over the entire nation of Israel rather than over a flock of sheep. What are your duties in your life? No matter what they may be, do your best; this is the 'firm foundation' for your success in the future.
